Ram is looking to build off the success of its new line of pickups with the addition of the Ram Power Wagon.
Last month, the Ram pickup outsold the Chevrolet Silverado for the first time since August 1999, and now Ram is aiming to further improve it sales with the new Ram Power Wagon. Based on the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 4×4 Crew Cab, the Ram Power Wagon is being billed as the “most off-road-capable pickup” by the American automaker. Numerous off-road-specific engineering enhancements have been made to the 2500 Heavy Duty including a unique suspension with over two inches of lift, locking differentials and a 12,000-lb winch.
The new Power Wagon features up to 10,810 lbs of towing capacity and is powered by the brand’s 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine with 410 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. The all-new suspension system includes Bilstein shocks, control arms, and custom spring rates built specifically for the model. All models will feature chrome front and rear bumpers along with 17-inch forged and polished aluminum wheels wrapped with 33-inch tires. Three trims will be available on the Power Wagon: Tradesman, SLT and Laramie.
No pricing on the 2014 Ram Power Wagon was announced.
