Pencil April 29th into your diary photography buffs, as Samsung has just sent out an invitation to its “Media Day” event, complete with the tagline “Kapture The Moment”. Mysterious…
Before you ask, no, Samsung’s marketing director hasn’t been replaced with a teenage graffiti artist from the 90’s, the childlike misspelling of capture actually has something to do with the event. Samsung will be unveiling its Galaxy K smartphone come point and shoot camera at the event, previously known as the Galaxy S5 Zoom.
The specs for the Galaxy S5 Zoom, henceforth known as the Galaxy K, leaked last month. The device is expected to come with a 20.2 Megapixel sensor (that’s 5184 x 3888 pixels) for some high resolution snaps, 10 times optical zoom, and a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED screen with a 720 x 1280 resolution. Under the hood, the rumors suggest a six-core Samsung Exynos 5 hexa-core chip, a Mali-T624 GPU, and 2GB of RAM to handle all your image processing needs. The Galaxy K will also supposedly come with a 2 megapixel front facing camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat software installed.
We’ll have to wait until April 29th until we can confirm any of the above, as well as finding out the actual launch date and pricing of the Galaxy K. Samsung’s Media Day event will be taking place at 11.00 am at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore.
